“Luke Mackenzie remains steadfast in his faith as he suffers the loss of his wife, who is killed in an automobile accident on a slick county road during a winter snow storm.

As his family is tested with trials and hardships that would tear most families apart, his eldest son, Jacob, announces he is leaving and demands his share of their mother’s insurance settlement. Dutifully, Luke agrees and gives his son almost all of the remaining cash. After starting a new business in Vegas, Jacob ends up wasting his possessions and eventually coming to the end of himself.”
